Spring

Meander through the beauty and tranquility of the garden, amongst colourful camellias and magnificent magnolias that grow amid hosts of daffodils. Dainty miniature narcissi and other spring bulbs flourish here.

Summer

In early summer follow the many paths through the glades carpeted with swathes of native bluebells and surrounded by the glorious colour and fragrance of a multitude of azaleas and rhododendrons. The sumptuous Rhododendron Loderi are at their best now. The unique and ancient acid wildflower meadow is an entrancing sight in June, alive with butterflies and buzzing with insects. The fine old Stewartias will be in flower, High Beeches Garden holds the National Collection.

Mid Summer

A peaceful time to relax and enjoy the wildlife attracted by the garden's numerous wildflowers. The contrasting colours and textures of the varied foliage create a backdrop against which beautiful Hydrangeas and Eucryphias look their best. In mid to late August, the azure blue Willow Gentians are in flower, this is the only garden in England where they are naturalised.

Autumn

A time of breathtaking displays of colour, amongst the best in the country, provided by the many spectacular Nyssas, Maples and Liquidambers growing throughout the garden and contrasting with the conifers. The beds of cyclamen glow in the Autumn light. In autumn the garden is ablaze with colour. The many Acers, Liquidambers, Nyssas, Fothergillas and Disanthus put on a dazzling display. Nyssa Sylvatica ‘High Beeches’ was awarded a First Class Certificate by the RHS in 1968. A native of North America it is one of the finest of the autumn colour trees.
